Aris engineered, produced, mixed and played on this song with such passion and patience. Aris, THANK-YOU so very much, I am beyond humble!! Anyone who gets the opportunity to work with you is extremely lucky! I know I am!

I wrote this song with another talented singer/songwriter, Dave Yaden, and I really want to thank him for the great experience. Collaboration is such an awesome thing! ☺ I would also like to thank everyone who gave their time to this recording, even if it did not end up in this final version – Chris Opperman, Blake Paulson, Glen Preece and Brian Simpson are all very talented musicians!!!

Hello Everyone!!

I am sorry I have been a little out of touch! I just moved into a new place and have been quite consumed with change. Nevertheless, things are in full swing and I look forward to sharing all the great things to come!!

For the next few months I will be focused solely on writing and recording, and will refrain from live performances until this summer. I am in a musical transition, going through my first re-invention stage if you will. ;) I am excited about my new material and sharing “Settle Down”, which is supposed to be in my ever so anxious hands this week!!

Last month I attended the ASCAP Expo here in LA and met a lot of great writers, producers, “suits” & fellow musicians. A lot of great things came from the event and it was definitely an inspiring experience on the writing front. The highlight of the event was meeting Bill Withers!! You can find a picture of us on my MySpace. Woo-Hoo!

I will be sending out another update soon with the release of “Settle Down”, however, I wanted to give you the latest. Be sure to check back for any other tid-bits that come together that I won’t send out to the masses. ;)

Hello dearest friends!! On January 13th I headed into the studio to record a song of mine called “Settle Down” (co-written with talented singer/songwriter, Dave Yaden (Josh Kelly). With Blake Paulson on Drums, Chris Opperman on keys (Steve Via’s piano player – yeah, he's sick! And one of the nicest guys EVER!), and Glen Preece on Bass, we are off to a killer start!! Aris Archontis is the mastermind behind the recording and I am so grateful for his talent! Not only does he give 10,000 percent, he is so fun to work with! But, because I was out of town January 14th-January 30th the recording was put on hold. We are picking it back up and bringing in some other great musicians. We should have the song ready to share by the end of this month!!

I have a show this Friday, February 9th in Hermosa Beach and again on Saturday, February 17th in LA. Please check the shows section for details and hopefully I will see you soon! :)

I am also really excited to share that I am working with a great designer friend of mine to create the first ever Selena Garcia T-shirt!!! ;) I will have these ready in the next couple of months…so stay tuned!!

It is a beautiful first day of the year! Bright and sunny, warm and quiet, I am happy to be in LA today! :)

For many, the New Year is a celebration of a new beginning. Whether you make New Years resolutions or not, I like to think that everyday is a new beginning! I wish you all a wonderful 2007 full of those you love, happiness and good health! Happy New Year!

Hello Everyone!

You have probably noticed I have changed my artist name to my real name, Selena Garcia. Ryan is my middle name.

I originally went with Selena Ryan because I thought it was a better stage name. I hate that term by the way! ;) Let's say "artist name". I thought it would just take some getting used to, but even though I got used to it, it never felt right.

This was a hard decision because getting your name out there is a HUGE part of being an artist. Radio stations have my name as Selena Ryan, all of my promo, press stuff like photos etc. So...after a lot of contemplation, I decided to change my name to Selena Garcia. And it feels great!!!

Hello Everyone!!!

I have posted a NEW RECORDING of one of my songs called "To Be Me". Todd Washington plays amazing guitars for an acoustic, stripped down version I am excited to share. My plans with "To Be Me", is to take you on a musical journey, sharing the evolution of a song. Aside from the Beatles “Strawberry Fields {Forever}”, how many times do you get to hear the different versions of a song before it reaches its final destination? A first recipe, repeated a number of times for the perfect, sometimes more complex treat! In no way a comparison, I would like to show you where “To Be Me” has started to where it will end up. And while I do not even know where it will truly end up, you will be surprised what a little cello and harmonies could do. ;) I hope you will share your thoughts with me. My dad for example, really wants to teach me the lyrics in Spanish. ;)

And, as always, I have been keeping busy with writing, planning a new photo shoot and working on merchandise! I am also working on booking shows in Northern California and everywhere in-between. I have been working on an acoustic recording of my song "To Be Me". Todd Washington recorded the guitars for this song and did an amazing job! I hope to share it with you within the next week or so! :)

The “Best Kept Secrets” Industry Showcase for Music Connection Magazine went really well! We introduced two new songs, “Settle Down” & “Indispensable”, and had guest guitarist Todd Washington accompany for an acoustic version of “Give In”. Thank-you to everyone who came!!

Before our next full band performance on September 20th (check “shows” section for details) I am staying dedicated to writing and prepping for my EP. October will be a busy month behind the scenes as I kick my writing, along with a few other things, into full gear!

What a great week!! The tracks have been laid down and the demo is almost complete! It’s being mixed now and will be ready next weekend.
